Keep your weekends free for a GLEE-ful surprise from ntv7!




Patrons of KL Sentral and Pavilion KL were in for a surprise last weekend when loud music started playing out of nowhere and a young girl was suddenly seen gyrating to the beat! She was soon joined by two break-dancers who showed off their spiffy moves. The trio was then joined by a party of other students which included a high school boy with his backpack. Several fashionistas in four-inch heels were also seen twirling around with their shopping bags. Their rapt audience stood mesmerized and confused at what was taking place, until the familiar songs from GLEE came on.

This was the scene of the GLEE Flash Mob organised by ntv7 in conjunction with the debut of the musical series for the first time on terrestrial TV on Tuesday, 18 May 2010 at 8.30pm. The GLEE-ful event took place at KL Sentral and Pavilion KL on Saturday, 15 May and Sunday, 16 May. Viral messages were sent out online and via The Breakfast Show to invite people over to the respective venues at set times, but no indication of what was to take place was foretold.
Going through familiar routines for songs such as ‘Bust a Move’, ‘Rehab’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, the dancers wowed their audience and then in their finishing move, unveiled a backdrop showcasing GLEE, beginning 18 May, every Tuesday at 8.30pm only on ntv7. Adding to the fun were the Fly FM announcers, Hunny Madu, Hafiz and Nadia who joined in the mob on Sunday at Pavilion KL.
