Crossings The Series
It's been a while since there has been a locally produced English series, and the last one I remember is probably Ghost on 8TV. Well now, there's going to be a new dark comedy series called "Crossings"!
Now if you're wondering what Crossings is about, Crossings is about Bob Boroi, a loser in life who aspires to be something better (Gerard Butler perhaps, you'll understand why in the first episode). So one day, on the way home, Bob meets with a freak accident and wakes up to find that the person he sees in his reflection is not his own! These "people" he sees have unfinished business and Bob is given the responsibility to help them settle the unfinished business before they can move on.
Now, a little about the interesting characters in Crossings:
Bob Boroi (Zakizamani Osman)
A loser, Bob works in Merlin Advertising as a copywriter.
Katie short for Katijah (Dira Abu Zahar)
Not your average girl, Katie is a tomboyish filmmaker who helps Bob in his quest to help the dead.
Daniel / Danny Boy (Hansen Lee)
A geek who doesn't look like one, Danny loves inventing things and believes his ghost hunting contraptions can detect spirits and help Bob.
Anthony / Antoine (Xavier Fong)
The queen receptionist in Merlin Advertising, Antoine is Brenda's good friend and he might remind you of Marc from Ugly Betty.
Brenda (Ruzana Ibrahim)
The hot chick in the office, Brenda uses her looks to make people do things for her (by people I mean Bob).
Miss Merlin (Nina Sharil Khan)
Sharp with her words, Miss Merlin is the boss/owner of Merlin Advertising.
Sifu Chun (Yalal Chin)
A Chinese sinseh Bob consults, and surprisingly the father of Danny.
My take on Crossings is, it's a quirky series with a tinge of the supernatural--cue dark comedy. The angles in which the stories are told keeps you wondering in each episode. Plus, there's a lineup of amazing guests actors in the series! People like Craig Fong (Kopitiam), Indy Nadarajah (Setem), Yvonne Sim (FHM Girl Next Door Winner), and Alan Yun (Sepet).
Crossings premieres on 1st October 2010 (Friday) @ 8.30pm, on ntv7 your home of feel good. If you missed the series, you can watch it again on www.ntv7.com.my or www.tonton.com.my :)
p/s: you can get the latest updates from the official Crossings twitter or ntv7's twitter too!
