ntv7 IS THE OFFICIAL HOST BROADCASTER FOR F1 2010

Calling all F1 enthusiasts! Rev up for the latest season of Formula One World Championship (2010) with ntv7, as we bring you the thrills and spills of 19 races, starting with Bahrain on the 13th of March 2010.

Now, Malaysians will be in for a treat: experiencing the F1 fever from the comfort of their own homes with seven LIVE races in Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, China, Canada, Japan and Korea as well as 12 delayed races in Bahrain, Singapore, Spain, Monaco, Turkey, Europe, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, and Abu Dhabi.

To gear up the viewing experience for the motorsports devotees, a nationwide-exclusive BBC commentary will be aired throughout each race, together with the station’s own Grandstand for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Viewers can look forward to Jonathan Legard, Martin Brundle, David Coulthard, Jake Humphrey and Lee McKenzie to provide their input, technical insights and know-how in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.

ntv7’s own Grandstand for the Formula One World Championship will be hosted by Joanne de Rozario and Adam C. It is set to air from the studio five minutes before the race, with them recapping on the previous race, updating viewers on the current standings and latest developments.

ntv7’s Grandstand for the Malaysian Grand Prix – however – will be aired live, spanning 30 minutes before and after the race. Joining the anchor with commentary and sound technical knowledge will be several racing experts. Topics include the technical aspects of Formula One, the drivers and teams, last year’s memorable unfinished race in Sepang as well as strategies most likely to be implemented at the Sepang circuit, in anticipation of the scorching heat or (un)likely flooding rain. The host and popular motorsports personality will close with a recap, revised standings and information on what to expect for the Shanghai Grand Prix.

In support to SIC’s ‘I LOVE F1’ Campaign, ntv7 is extremely proud to work closely with SIC in increasing the awareness among Malaysians for the sports and in support of the 1Malaysia campaign in promoting multi-racial harmony and understanding among the people through F1.

Speaking at the press conference announcing ntv7’s involvement in the new F1 season, ntv7’s General Manager, Airin Zainul commented on how pleased she was to be working with Sepang International Circuit in this endeavor.

“When Formula One was broadcasted on ntv7 last year, it earned favourable TV ratings, we managed to garner a cumulative reach of 7.6 million viewers of the mass market throughout the broadcasting period of F1.”

“Formula One is something to be enjoyed by everyone. We are extremely pleased to partner with the Sepang International Circuit. This is the second year that SIC has awarded ntv7 as the official host broadcaster and it is a testament to our deepest commitment of reaching out to our discerning viewers across the country with the most compelling and exciting programming. We are committed to promote the spirit of F1 and are delighted that our viewers can now be part of the excitement as they watch, share and celebrate the extensive coverage of 2010 F1 World Championship programming on our network."

Airin Zainul also said that as F1 fever continually hits Malaysia, she is looking forward to further spread the joy of the world’s fastest-growing sports towards the rakyat, for the second consecutive year.

“The Formula One World Championship will be promoted across all television networks in Media Prima, be it on ntv7, TV3, 8TV and TV9. I encourage Malaysians to tune in for the latest updates and to join in with the spirit of F1!” added Airin Zainul, General Manager, ntv7
