The Deep End

Over a thousand applicants, only four are chosen to be the lucky ones to join Sterling, Huddle, Oppenheim & Craft the most prestigous law firm in Los Angeles. Then again, was the word lucky?

Dylan Hewitt (Matt Long), Elizabeth "Beth" Brandford (Leah Pipes), Liam Priory (Ben Lawson), and Adelaide "Addy" Fisher (Tina Majorino) are the "lucky" first year associates handpicked to join Sterling, and join a life of being doormats until they learn how to swim when thrown into the deep end.

Dylan is the philanthropist the company, the one who always tries his best to do the right thing, and it gets paid off, eventually. Beth is the rich girl, daughter of a lawyer whose harsh ways she cannot agree with. Liam is the player, stating in the interview that he became a lawyer to meet women. And finally we have Addy, the polite girl who gets pushed around by the partners, and everyone else.

Now, here's a little tidbit: the series was created by David Hemingson, co-producer of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Lie To Me". David used to be a law graduate himself, and that's how he came up with The Deep End.

What I like about the series is the interaction between the characters and how each of them have this underlying storyline. Their characters have distinct personalities and I personally love Addy :)

While reviews for the series might be mixed, I still think it's worth a watch! Similar genres include Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy.

The Deep End will be airing on Tuesdays @ 8.30pm starting from the 17th of August 2010.
