Music Mondays: Big Bang Fever

If you were thinking The Big Bang Theory, it's not quite. But if you were thinking OMG does she mean that Korean group Big Bang? Yes, you get brownie points.

I know how everyone seems like a Kpop fan nowadays but I assure you, I'm not one of those who got on the bandwagon just recently... Then again, that story shall be left for another day...

Back to Big Bang, they just finished their Korean concert last week and their new songs like "Blue" are capturing fans and non-fans alike since its release. I had the privilege to meet the boys and interview them last year when GD, TOP & SeungRi came for the Korean Music Wave, and man I have to say that they're a really funny bunch despite their crazily bold fashion & hair.

Before actually meeting Big Bang, I had this image of them being the kind that are like ice princes, cool & quiet with their over the top accessories, blinged shoes, etc. But after doing the interview, I could really see a glimpse of their real selves coming through.

GD is a super down to earth person, he was sick that day but he sorta warmed up to everyone after doing the first few interview questions. Also, if you watch the video closely, he actually takes time to think through his answers, kinda felt like he was sincerely in his answers.

TOP surprisingly has got this dorky side to him, he kept snickering and getting the rest to say "Bagus!" the one Malay word they learned from their time in Malaysia. And he found it so funny he kept trying to say it randomly, on and off.

As for SeungRi, I can only say that he really wants to stand out. GD & TOP usually give similar answers but SeungRi comes up with the randomest things to say. Especially with the golf thing, I was thinking, is that his "adult-like" side trying to come through? But he did crack up the staff with his quirky side.

Q: If you weren't a singer, what would you be doing right now?
GD: I'd be a manager
TOP: I'll be a normal University student who will make a lot of friends and get into relationships
SeungRi: Golf player

Q: Who brings together everyone's opinions?
TOP: TaeYang. We all have different characters and we love to joke around so TaeYang helps get everyone's opinions together.

Q: Who's the person who you think won't change after 10 years?
TOP: We all change cause we're different everyday

Q: If you had a one month long break, what would you do?
GD: I would like to go on a holiday, maybe come to Malaysia again or wherever because I don't go on holidays a lot.
TOP: Me too, holidays. I love travelling
SeungRi: I will play golf.
