I'm really proud of Malaysia, first there was the launch of YouTube Malaysia and then slowly our local YouTubers were picking up the pace with seriously inspiring videos, videos worth sharing and ones that made us feel like truly 1Malaysia.
Following JinnyboyTV, they released their new video called "My Generasi" and when I first saw it, there were about maybe 300 views... After that, I saw my friends on facebook slowly sharing it out and the total number of my friends (who are very little btw) who shared the video out reached about 20 over. Now let's attempt to do the math a little, if one person had 20 friends who shared the video and let's say this person has an average number of 500 friends, 20 x 500 = 10,000 so it's not surprising how now the video has gained over 650,000+ views!
Wonderfully directed and shot by Reuben plus editing by Jin himself, the video made me laugh especially when it showed us how we had our own version of facebook back then. The funny poems we would write for our friends, the coloured pens we would use, ahhh wonderful memories indeed.
I guess the "next generasi" would only recognize touch screens and iPads, no more eraser games or 5 stones for them. But being the generation that we are, it's amazing to look back and see how we ourselves went through the transition from "Apple? What's that?" to "OMG Wong Fu is coming!". This generasi has come a long long way and I believe we do shape how our social media will be like in the future, because we've come from both ends that tell two different stories, capturing the older generasi and the younger alike.
Looking forward to more amazing videos from our generasi's best YouTubers like Joseph Germani, The Grim Film, D Ming Thing too!
