Kyraben are actually Bentos that are made with characters from animes, cartoons, movies, etc. And generally, kyarabens are harder to make than normal bentos, just because of the amount of work put in to make edible ingredients look like a character, not to mention it has to look the same in terms of colours too!

Today, I'm going to introduce my favourite kyraben maker who's blog is fantastic for ideas and uber cuteness! Anna The Red (not to be confused with Hongyi/Red), is a girl who's blog I've always followed just because she's a big fan of games, animes and in particular, she's a big fan of Ghibli that loves to make Totoro shaped food!
If you know your Ghibli movies, you'd know Totoro is this huge fluffy grey character that lives in the forest. Anna loves Totoro, and has made totoro bentos, pancakes, cookies, etc. and the list goes on. Each of her creations always amaze me because they are so detailed! Imagine the lengths and breaths she takes to make them not only look like Totoro but also taste good!

She's like her own food jammer you know? Taking stuff available from stores and turning them into novelty items that help her in making food; like making her own Totoro shaped cookie cutter...
